Reliable, safe, automatic
performance in ANY air fed machine - presses, folders, die cutters, laminators,
collators or binders
The
Ionix Static Eliminator
requires no electricity or maintenance. Simply install the unit in the feeder
air line or spray powder air line and forget about it. The Ionix Static Eliminator
works automatically
whenever air passes through it. The unit contains no high voltages, nuclear
materials, or hazardous components to worry about. It will not affect your
printing. Ionix is easy to install. Identify the main blower air line, cut it
and push the hose ends over the self fitting ends of the Ionix.
How it works in
feeders of air fed presses, folders, collators, inserters, etc.
Due to friction and movement,
paper develops an
static electrical field between the sheet surfaces which causes them to attract to each other.
The air in between these sheets is an electrical insulator and prevents the
attracting charges from coming together and neutralizing each other. The
Ionix
Static Eliminator uses the air going to the feeder to eliminate that field
by making the air electrically conductive. When
feeder blower air passes through the Ionix Static Eliminator, the air
going in is an electrical insulator but comes out electrically conductive. When that Ionix treated air is then
blown between the sheets of paper by the feeder, it pushes out the air that has
been acting like an electrical insulator and replaces it with air that is
acting like an electrical conductor. The charged sheets can conduct their
electrical charge through the Ionix air and the sheets electrically separate.
Sheet Press installations
(Sheet fed presses, die cutters, laminators etc)
Static in paper in feeders
If you are experiencing doubles or
miss feeds, the problem is most likely static in the paper. Ionix installed in
the main feeder line will eliminate that problem.
Static in plastic in feeders
If you are experiencing
difficulties feeding plastic in your press, you can eliminate the problem by
installing TWICE the recommended Ionix in the main feeder air line. This is
necessary since the static in plastic is substantially higher than static found
in paper. Install the Ionix in SERIES (end to end with a short hose between
them) in the main feeder air line.
Press spray powder
systems
Ionix reduces spray powder usage while improving coverage. When compressed air blows into the spray powder, it
circulates the spray powder which creates static. These static charges cause the
powder to attract to itself and not to spread lightly or smoothly. This
charged spray powder is also attracted to the metal surfaces of the grounded
press causing the powder to coat the press. Ionix installed in the spray powder
unit prevents the buildup of static in the powder which reduces powder usage,
provides a more even coating and keeps the press cleaner.
Mailing Equipment
The laser imaging process induces a static charge in paper which jams the the inserter
pockets .Installing an Ionix in the main separator air line going the the
inserter pockets blows Ionix air between the paper dissipating the static.
Install one Ionix Model 300 for each 4 pockets in the inserter.
Folders
Feeding coated or copied/laser imaged
material
If you are experiencing doubles or
miss feeds in the feeder feeding copied or coated paper, installing a minimum
size Ionix Model 200 in the feeder air line will eliminate the problem.
Delivery static
If you are experiencing static in the delivery of your folder, THIS IS NOT
DUE TO STATIC IN THE FEEDER! This is static generated in the buckle folding
process. As copied paper is folded, static builds up on the folder roller which
is transferred to the folded paper and causes the paper to stick together in the
delivery. To solve this problem you must mechanically modify your folder. Ionix
has retrofit mod kits for folders which will eliminate static in the delivery.
