Instruction for installing Ionix Static Eliminator FDS
Folder Delivery System
On a Baum 714
(Models manufactured after 1991)
Before you begin, verify
- The inside diameter of the
main blower hose coming from the pump matches the adapter size on the
outside box label.
- The model of your folder
matches the folder indicated on the outside of the box.
- The model of the Ionix
Static Eliminator enclosed in the box matches the outside of the box.
If any parts do not match, call Ionix at
800-246-1784 for exchange parts.
Parts List:
- New roller guard cover
with Ionix air bar
- Tee hose connector for air
line
- 5’ of ¼” hose
- Ionix Static Eliminator
Model 200
Required tools:
- 5/16” Allen wrench (To
unscrew hex bolts holding Baum roller cover if roller cover is still on
folder.)
- Scissors
Installation:
Proceed with installation after you are
certain the kit you have is for your folder.
- IF A BAUM ROLLER
COVER IS ON YOUR FOLDER, use an Allen wrench to loosen the bolt on
each side. The bolts are screwed into the SIDE of the folder. Loosen bolts
and remove the old Baum roller folder cover. Replace with the Ionix and
retighten bolts.
- IF THERE IS NO BAUM
ROLLER COVER ON YOU FOLDER, simply place the Ionix FDS cover over
the roller. It will drop in place and the weight of the roller cover will
hold it in place.
- Identify the MAIN blower
air line coming from the pump going to the folder feeder. Disconnect the air
hose and turn the pump on verifying it is blowing air from the pump and it
is not the vacuum line.
- Cut the blower hose and
insert the Ionix Static Eliminator and reattach the blower hose.
- Cut the blower hose
after the Ionix and insert the tee connector. A force fit will hold
the hose to the Ionix and the T adapter.

- Select a length of ¼” hose
and run it from the air bar to the connector. Connect the hose.
- Turn on the pump and
verify air is coming out from the bottom and side of the new roller cover
air bar. If so, installation in complete.
MOST
IMPORTANT!
Make sure blast air coming from pump goes through the Ionix Static Eliminator
FIRST
and that the T adapter is installed AFTER the Ionix Static Eliminator.
Ionix FDS WILL NOT WORK if this is not done.
Correct installation - Pump –> Ionix Static Eliminator –> Air splitter –> Ionix
Roller Guard
Incorrect installation – Pump –> Air splitter –> Ionix Static Eliminator –>
Ionix Roller Guard
